In the last 3 days, TXU has been working hard with all of our new features. We’re not done, but we’ve gotten a good chunk of stuff! So far, @admin and I are really liking our new social network that we created, too! The other things that we’ve done include:
Dark Mode “2.0” This was an internal project with Team Falcon, but it worked out so well that it has expanded over to TXU! As a personal fan of Dark Mode, I’m excited to see it looking so flawless!
Cosmetic Updates The rounded edges on the navigation menu up top have expanded down to the side navigation as well as the story boxes. We plan to do more with it at a later date.
While the list is small, a lot of the work that went into the social network was done behind the scenes. We hope you like these new changes!
OK, guys. Slight change in plans. Since TXU has been down, Team Falcon’s theme production did not stop. There are tons of new features that will be coming very soon, some of them we outlined a few months ago! Once we get our new social network perfected, we will be installing some new features, including a better version of Dark Mode than originally planned. The theme will also be fixed up so it looks even smoother than before! We’re very excited here, and we hope you enjoy some of these new changes once things start rolling out!
First and foremost, I’m happy to say we are back online, and we’ve missed you guys (again). Here at The Xbox Universe, we strive to create the best social networking experience for you guys. From sharing stuff between users to private messaging and even forums. As the owner of Team Falcon (our site’s network provider), I had given TXU’s founder explicit creative freedom with this site, and some most of his ideas have been amazing! His latest idea involves a fully revamped social network that has (possibly) the best social experience I’ve seen so far.
As you go through the site from this point, you’ll see some new social networking options, and while we are aware of some cosmetic issues, it will take a few days to iron everything out. Little by little, we will finally have the site exactly where we want it. As the owner of Team Falcon, I am thankful for Major Iris and his very creative ideas. In fact, some of his ideas have been implemented elsewhere on the Team Falcon network!
Speaking of Team Falcon, we have our own enhancements going on at our site as well, and they will be implemented into The Xbox Universe very soon.
Due to some technical issues involving WordPress, its plugins and our server limitations, we have ran into some issues with our site that is kinda limiting what we can and can’t do right now. We’re working hard at putting things back to where you can still login, access your information and other things, too. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Stay tuned, we’re not broken … just busy with life.
Here at The Xbox Universe, we’re always looking to try new things to make your user experience one of the best. Since partnering with Team Falcon, we have already seen a brand new design pushed out that makes everything so much better, and the team behind the design has been hard at work at making even more improvements to make your visit even more fun! Over the next week or so, you will be seeing some changes (some big, some small). Some of these changes include:
Dark Mode We’re happy to announce that The Xbox Universe will have a Dark Mode theme available for your web browser! Please keep in mind that this feature will not work on a mobile browser (more information below).
TXU Achievements The Xbox Universe is a gaming site specific to Xbox, but we’re not affiliated with Microsoft. And, when you complete certain tasks in Xbox games, what happens? You get an achievement! And, here at TXU, that will be no different. Soon, you will earn achievements for doing simple things like signing up for a new account, logging in and even commenting on our posts! More to come on this feature soon.
Updated Tabs Team Falcon has been working hard at finding a new way to make website navigation easier to program, and they had recently hit the jackpot! The tabs are virtually the same, but there are a couple visual differences that we’d like to share. The first one is that certain tabs (not all) will have bonus menus when you hover over them with your mouse! The other difference is that the edges are more rounded rather than a straight edge.
TXU Mobile Are you on a mobile browser? Is it hard to read some of the site? Trust me, that’s been a problem for 2 years that I (personally) haven’t been able to fix until now. The Xbox Universe will (soon) have its own exclusive mobile website and you will be able to do all of the basic things. How basic? Well, just reading our stories and commenting on them. The best experience for TXU will always be on your computer (or your Xbox One console with Microsoft Edge).
Follow Us It’s going to be even easier to follow us on social media real soon!
Help Menu To eliminate the need for contacting the TXU staff constantly for issues, we’re working on a special Help page to (hopefully) get your questions answered in a more timely manner.
While The Xbox Universe is still new this time around, Team Falcon has (again) been working hard at making the user experience better. Please feel free to send feedback as a comment here, or contacting us on TXU Social!
Hey guys, my name is Joe Rider. I am the owner of Team Falcon (the network that created this theme), and the co-owner of The Xbox Universe for the last 10 years. We are very excited about the revival of our website that Team Falcon & The Xbox Universe are working together to show you just how safe you are. We want to take a different approach at things, rather than jumping out of the gate and pouring more on our plates than we can handle. That was our biggest hugest downfall with The Xbox Universe last time. Today, we are introducing Privacy & Cookie Policies for your viewing pleasure to show you directly how safe you are on your preferred website viewing device (be it your computer, your mobile phone … possibly your Xbox console).
Well, here we are! We’re kinda empty at the moment, but like any great website, it takes time to build up to that point. As you can imagine, this entire design is brand new for you guys, but for me? I built this 2 years ago, and I have been using it with my own personal blog among other things. I wanted to take a moment and basically re-introduce myself to you guys and welcome you to a revival of the journey nobody ever wanted to leave. Unfortunately, some issues beyond our control kept us from continuing. But, that’s all in the past where it stays, and we’re looking forward to where we are in 2020 and beyond! A lot of the stuff we used to do will return in due time, with the keyword being “time”. Nothing will be completed on day one.
One thing you’re gonna see that’s new is advertising. We know it sucks, but without it, we will have some difficulty paying bills … like the one that keeps our website online. Not to worry, though. Aside from the ad views that generate money to help us, you can just get rid of those pesky ads for a very small price. Just $2 per month gets rid of those ads. Or, you can pay by the year, and save a little bit of money if you want to! $20 a year helps more than you know, and as a thank you from us, you save $4 compared to our monthly plan. Another thing we might do is exclusive stories to add incentive.
There’s a lot planned for TXU 2.0, so be sure to follow us on Facebook & Twitter to get even more updates!
